BIANCA Valerio, TV host, live presenter, product endorser, model, make-up artist, newspaper contributor, online columnist and personality development coach, proves that she can take on almost everything and excel in it. In Face to Face: The Healing Power of Make-up, her ground-breaking book published by National Book Store, Bianca features a mix of everyday people and celebrities and transforms them with make-up.
Bianca declares that “everyone is in dire need of some kind of healing even if they don’t realize or admit it.” After years of being bullied and being depressed, Bianca shares that make-up completely transformed her life and that lead her to help others who are suffering from low self-esteem or different insecurities to feel better about themselves. The author also points out that the book is just the first step and is only about physical transformation. Once read and applied, the goal would be for the reader to discover beauty in a whole new light.
Packed with step-by-step doable cosmetic techniques and personal stories shared by the subjects including celebrities like Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Iza Calzado, and Georgina Wilson, together with real people like Jenie Lepitan (Tupperware brand’s First Pride of the Nation 2010), Sugar Masigan (who suffers from Alopecia) and Tanya Corcuera (who has a prominent facial birthmark), Face to Face: The Healing Power of Make-up, is both an instructional make-up guide and a self-help book for everyone.
Xandra Ramos-Padilla, National Book Store’s Merchandising Director for Books, shares that upon hearing the concept of the book, “It was just natural for me to help and make it available to the market. It truly is a one-of-a-kind book wherein people get to read the personal stories of the subjects and see how make-up completely transforms them and helps them cope with their insecurities.”
Face to Face: The Healing Power of Make-up is exclusively available at National Book Store and Powerbooks. The royalties to the author from the sales of this book will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross.
