RED Bull Racing in Formula One, the Citroen Total World Rally Team in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and the Peugeot Total Team in endurance racing all won their respective world titles in 2011 using fuel and lubricants by Total, the company stressed in a news release.
It added that Sebastian Vettel, who was F1 world drivers’ champion in 2010, won his second title with Total at the Japanese Grand Prix in October. A week later, the Total-sponsored Red Bull Racing Team again secured the world constructors’ crown at the Korean Grand Prix.
In WRC, the Citroen Total World Rally Team won its seventh world constructors’ championship in Spain as Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena made rally-racing history with an eighth consecutive title at Rally Great Britain.
For its part, the Peugeot Total Team this year again clinched the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at the last race of the season that was held in Zhuhai, China. Total said that its lubricants and motor fuels played an “integral part” in these successes.
