CEB’s Dec. bookings jump

THE operator of Cebu Pacific on Friday said it has increased flight frequencies to popular destinations such as Boracay and Hong Kong for the holiday season amid the spike in bookings this month.

In a statement, Cebu Air Inc. said it added a daily Manila-Hong Kong-Manila flight from December 21, 2011 to January 3, 2012, giving passengers a choice between a total of five daily flights to Hong Kong.

The airline also added daily flights from Manila to Kalibo on January 2 next year and from Cebu to Caticlan (December 21, 2011-January 4, 2012), to accommodate the influx of visitors to the island paradise of Boracay, one of Asia’s top beaches.

Meanwhile, those going home to visit family and friends will find CEB’s additional daily flights between December 21, 2011 and January 4, 2012 most convenient.

One daily flight each is added on these routes: Cebu-Davao-Cebu, Davao-Iloilo-Davao, Manila-Cebu-Manila, and Manila-Davao-Manila.

One daily flight each is also added to CEB’s Manila-Tacloban-Manila and Manila-Dumaguete-Manila routes until further notice.

“CEB’s December 2011 bookings increased by 23 percent this year compared to last year, driven by a 27 percent increase in international bookings. We added these flights so more local and foreign passengers can take advantage of the holiday season and CEB’s low fares,” Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and distribution said.

CEB operates 10 Airbus A319, 19 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. By the end of 2011, CEB will operate a fleet of 37 aircraft—with an average age of 3.6 years—making it one of the youngest fleets in Asia.

Between 2012 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 23 Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders, and 2 Airbus A320 aircraft on operating lease arrangements.
