A WHOLLY owned subsidiary of Globe Telecom has partnered with a US-based firm to offer unlimited domestic and international call services to the Philippines.
Globe’s GTI Telecom partnered with Americatel Corp. to launch ZeroUnlimited Philippines. The new IDD plan for the Philippines is part of Americatel’s ZERO11 wireless service, its flagship contract-free prepaid wireless service.
It is designed to place unlimited calls within the US and to the Philippines. ZERO11 wireless provides a reliable, affordable and easy to use service with exceptional call quality to the Philippines, supported by the partnership between Americatel and Globe as well as a direct transpacific fiber interconnection.
ZeroUnlimited Philippines is the first wireless plan with unlimited domestic and international calling to the Philippines at one flat monthly fee.
The service works with most unlocked GSM phones in the US.
There is no need to purchase a new phone, equipment or pay set-up fees.
The monthly fee of $79.99 includes unlimited domestic calls within the US, international calling to up to five Globe and Touch Mobile cellular or landline numbers in the Philippines, as well as unlimited domestic texting and unlimited incoming international SMS.
Data plans are available at $10 a month for 250MB and $20 a month for 2GB of data.
Customers can dial any other number in the Philippines or worldwide at an additional charge of as low as 2 cents ($0.02) per minute.
“With an estimated four million Filipinos in the US, we felt that it was time to launch a call service that would give our kababayans value for money and maximized talk time with friends and relatives in the Philippines. Our partnership with Americatel, a leader in call services to ethnic markets in the US, is attuned to our thrust of putting our customers first by offering customized and relevant products and services,” Rizza Maniego-Eala, group head for international business of Globe said.
To receive the benefits of ZeroUnlimited Philippines wireless plan, customers must purchase the plan with a free ZERO11 wireless SIM card and insert the activated SIM card into their unlocked GSM phones.
