The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) confirmed that the extremely hot weather in Metro Manila triggered the fire at the garage of the Five Star Bus Company on Don Carlos Revilla Street, Pasay City last Tuesday, where seven bus units were burned. Pasay-BFP fire marshal Supt. Douglas Guiyab said no one was hurt in the fire that was put out after about one hour. Temperatures in Pasay City last Tuesday reached 34.5 degrees Celsius, with the heat index at 38.8 degree Celsius, according to a report from the weather bureau.
