Finding a lifetime of happiness through public service

Being part of the 1.5-million strong Chinese-Filipino community, philanthropist Hilda Co Ong continues to revel in the Chinese saying that “if you want happiness for a lifetime, help others” and finds the truth in the proverb every day at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Like many Chinese-Filipinos, Ong grew up in the sheltered confines of Manila’s Binondo district, but also saw at a young age the reality of poverty in the country and the need for Filipinos to help each other.
