CHURCH groups on Thursday expressed “grave alarm” over the proposal to shift to a federal form of government, saying it would be a sure change “for the worse” and would put people over the edge as more taxes would be imposed on them to support a bigger political establishment.
In a statement, 13 regional ecumenical councils or RECs of the National Council of Churches of the Philippines said: “We are gravely alarmed by the Duterte government’s move to change the 1987 Philippine Constitution for federalism.”
