PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has directed Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano to talk to his Chinese counterpart about recent strong warnings sent by the Chinese military to Philippine aircraft passing the South China Sea (West Philippine Sea).

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday night, Cayetano said the President wanted him to work something out with his Chinese counterpart because the incident does not illustrate how friends should treat each other.
