CITY OF DASMARIÑAS, Cavite: De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) conferred the honorary degree Doctor of Humanities (honoris causa) upon His Eminence Luis Antonio Gokim Cardinal Tagle, D.D. at the academic convocation on June 19, 11 am, at Ugnayang La Salle of DLSU-D. The degree Doctor of Humanities (honoris causa) is the highest academic honor in the University in recognition of Tagle’s achievements and contributions to the DLSU-D community. Tagle served as one of the members of the DLSU-D Board of Trustees from 2005 until 2012. “I will never forget how, while I was still the Bishop of the Diocese of Imus, I have seen how DLSU-D has consistently helped the Diocese in fulfilling its mission,” Tagle recalls of the University’s strong partnership with the diocese. The Medal of St. John Baptist de La Salle was also awarded to Tagle after the conferment of the honorary degree. The medal is given as a gesture of esteem and appreciation for His Eminence’s valuable contribution as pastoral leader, in his capacity as former Bishop of the Diocese of Imus and now Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Manila.
