WHILE the contribution of Cagayan Valley (Region 2) to the cacao industry in the Philippines is still small, the Regional Cacao Council (RCC) based in Tuguegarao City is proud that the region’s cacao products have a unique taste and aroma compared to those of other regions.
With that in mind, the offices of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Trade and Industry in the Cagayan Valley in partnership with the RCC, local government units, state colleges and universities and nursery operators conducted a workshop aimed at boosting the industry in the region.
