Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello 3rd has directed all 17 Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) around the country to study a possible wage increase in relation to the effects of the implementation of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train) Law and other economic factors on the purchasing power of the daily take-home pay of minimum-wage earners.

“I already ordered all the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productive Boards to study a possible wage hike in their respective areas,” Bello said on Friday, adding that the Department of Labor and Employment is also studying the effects of the Train Law on the take-home pay of the workers so that the government can respond accordingly.
