THE United States is not keen on forming another four-member country alliance or "new quad" partnership in the Indo-Pacific involving the US, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.

US Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Kritenbrink made the remark when asked whether Washington was looking to establish a new Quad in East Asia based on its treaties with Tokyo, Seoul and Manila.
