ABOUT 700 civilians fled the towns of Pagalungan and Datu Montawal in Maguindanao del Sur and Pikit town in Cotabato in the wake of military offensives against suspected members of the Dawlah Islamiya (DI).
Two suspected members of the extremist group were killed and four others were injured during the military operation along the borders of the two provinces, the Army announced Thursday.
